Turn Gallery is pleased to present Vibrant Disruptions a solo show in our Parlour Room with Sabra Moon Elliot opening May 17th, 2025.

Sabra Moon Elliot is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans ceramics, sculpture, painting, and installation. Her work explores the complex relationships between structure, intuition, and the inherent memory carried within materials.

Elliot’s artistic language is heavily inspired by improvisational quilt-making techniques and the aesthetics of outsider American craft traditions. These inspirations surface in her use of asymmetry, irregular forms, and layered surfaces that embrace the beauty of imperfection.

Elliot places particular emphasis on surface texture and the use of negative space, both of which become active elements within her work. By employing improvisational strategies—pinching, warping, and deconstructing—Elliot reimagines pattern, structure, and the tactile nature of material. Altogether, Elliot subverts rigid grids and geometric forms through organic, vibrant disruption.

Sabra Moon Elliot (b. 1980, New York, NY) received a Bachelor of Science in film from New York University and studied art history at Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy. Her work has been exhibited at Guild Hall, East Hampton, NY; Ceysson & Bénétière, New York, NY; Tripoli Gallery, Wainscott, NY; Onna House, East Hampton, NY; Halsey McKay Gallery, East Hampton, NY; and The Fireplace Project, East Hampton, NY.
