TURN Gallery is pleased to present Mary Corman in our Parlour Room with her solo exhibition Lightbridge, opening Wednesday, November 5th. This marks Corman’s debut as a gallery-represented artist.

In this new series, Corman continues her meditative exploration of light, architecture and memory. She extends her ongoing inquiry into the threshold between the seen and the felt, between captured moments and remembered ones. For Corman, light is not only subject, but also structure: a bridge between perception and reflection. Architecture becomes atmosphere and shadow becomes presence, pursuing the delicate tension between movement and stillness. Painting is a way of thinking through time and Corman’s compositions operate as cinematic stills—compressing duration into a specific, resonant frame, or extending a single moment into something more enduring. Devoid of human figure, but reverberating with their lingering presence, Corman’s ethereal paintings are imbued with a ghostly sense of longing for the past. In these quiet, radiant spaces, Corman invites us to pause, to see how light carries memory, and to consider how the simplest structure can open into the infinite.

Mary Corman received her MFA from New York University, Steinhardt School and BA from Stanford University. She recently completed a residency at the American Academy in Rome. Corman held her first solo exhibition at TURN Gallery in 2023, as well as a two person exhibition with Melissa Joseph in 2021. Group exhibitions include Planthouse Gallery, NY, curated by Maureen Gallace and Jason Tomme; Harper’s Gallery, NY; and 80WSE Gallery, NY. She teaches painting at NYU and lives and works in New York City.

Lightbridge will open in our Parlour Room on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 from 6 - 8 pm on 32 East 68th Street, 2nd Floor, NY, NY 10065. The gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday from 12 - 6 pm. For further information, contact Annika at ap@turngallerynyc.com.
